So one of the sites that links to that Helsinki Complaints Choir video on youtube is, of course, [livejournal.com profile] finland, and now I know how to say "It's not fair!" in Finnish: "On se niin väärin!!" Which, judging from the video, is pronounced relatively easily: Ohn seh neen vah-rihn. I think they have one of those "flip" R sounds with a D in it, like Japanese does. Or like "Gloria" does when you sing it.

So now I can get that song stuck in my head even more. >_<

And I don't know how to do the dots over the As. I totally keep cutting and pasting it.

I think it's time to change my username and the title of my journal. I've been meaning to do that for ages.

...and done! Woohoo.

Grr, that doesn't work on my computer, whether I type it before the A or after. Matter of fact, Alt+2 sends me to my second Firefox tab. Must bug Jarrod about it later.

There's a bit on YouTube for the Birmingham Complaints Choir, but it's not nearly as good as the Helsinki one.

Ha, I've got the "all ring tones are irritating" part stuck in my head. So at this moment, I have people singing the sound of a ring tone, in Finnish, stuck in my head. *rolls eyes*

I wonder what they mean by "reference numbers"? I want to think phone numbers or something.

Ooh, you have to use the number pad on the right of the keyboard, not the numbers up top. That might help?

I don't remember the reference numbers part...maybe another listen is in order!

Yeah, I'm using the ten-key pad, and I even double-checked the number lock.

It's always worth listening to again! Jesus, I must've watched that thing ten times by now.

Bummer about the number thing. I would go crazy if I couldn't type my ë!

Think Furi Kuri. It's not really pronounced furi kuri, but it's not fooly cooly either. It's something in-between. My chorus director calls it a "flipped R" as opposed to a rolled R. Or, to quote Wikipedia:

The consonant r is similar to Korean r. To an English speaker's ears, its pronunciation lies somewhere between a flapped t (as in American and Australian English better and ladder), an l and a d.

*pokes around wikipedia some more* Hmmm. Apparently it's more of a rolled R, like in Spanish. It sounds like a flipped R in the song, but they are going fast.

US Bank at 39th and Main is hiring for up to 30 hours a week. With cash-handling and customer service experience, I'm sure you'd be awesome at that - plus I think it's standard for banks to offer health care packages. I'd look into it for sure.
