So one of the sites that links to that Helsinki Complaints Choir video on youtube is, of course, [livejournal.com profile] finland, and now I know how to say "It's not fair!" in Finnish: "On se niin väärin!!" Which, judging from the video, is pronounced relatively easily: Ohn seh neen vah-rihn. I think they have one of those "flip" R sounds with a D in it, like Japanese does. Or like "Gloria" does when you sing it.

So now I can get that song stuck in my head even more. >_<

And I don't know how to do the dots over the As. I totally keep cutting and pasting it.

I think it's time to change my username and the title of my journal. I've been meaning to do that for ages.

...and done! Woohoo.

Think Furi Kuri. It's not really pronounced furi kuri, but it's not fooly cooly either. It's something in-between. My chorus director calls it a "flipped R" as opposed to a rolled R. Or, to quote Wikipedia:

The consonant r is similar to Korean r. To an English speaker's ears, its pronunciation lies somewhere between a flapped t (as in American and Australian English better and ladder), an l and a d.

*pokes around wikipedia some more* Hmmm. Apparently it's more of a rolled R, like in Spanish. It sounds like a flipped R in the song, but they are going fast.
