The dog won't stop whining. He's been in, he's been out. He has food. He has water.

I am also the only one home, on the comp, listening to weird shit on NRK.

When ruby_wings left a note saying she was going to her mom's house, I didn't think she meant several days. C'est la vie.

The only one of my self-imposed chores that I got done was the dishes. In my defense, there were a lot of them.

I thought I would be back this morning, actually. It just kind of happened that I ended up staying until Sunday. I'll be home after work on Sunday, though. I get off at 4 PM so taking Tri-met, I should be home a little before 5 PM hopefully. Meanwhile, I'll clean what I can before the 'rents come home. I think their plane gets in @ 11 PM, but don't quote me on that.

I'll get my crap upstairs before I leave tomorrow, and we can work on stuff tomorrow together. It doesn't need a lot of work around here, we could vaccuum and they'd be impressed. *lol*

I have a ship's meeting but it's at noonish. I didn't write down the time, which makes me feel very very dumb.

Does the dog have a crate to sleep in? If so, put him in his crate, if he starts whining, rap on the crate and say firmly 'no, no whining!'
If you think he needs to go outside, tell him no, then wait for him to quiet down, then take him out. You don't want him to associate whining with getting what he wants, he should get what he wants when he's doing what you want him to ;)

He's chilled out temporarily, but you know it's bad when I'm tempted to whack him upside the head. I haven't.

He's six years old now, and his parents did the same thing. I think it's partially the breed. Never own a rat terrier.

What's really bad, is he recently developed this truly high-pitched loud yiping noise he occasionally employs, usually for people coming home who live here. It's so painful to be near I've literally held his mouth shut until he stops, and meanwhile he's got this totally panicked look on his face because I'm physically restraining him.

Oh gawd he's doing it again. I'm going to bed soon. In theory he'll fall asleep as well. Either that or I'll end up with him in my bed just to shut him up.

I have to point out, he's usually not THIS whiny. That, and he's very cute and snuggly when asleep.

Sounds like what my dog does when it's going to storm. I swear, she's a better weather reporter than the weatherman who gets paid gazillions of dollars. Maybe you should put on headphones and blast the loudest music you can find. Or earplugs. Have you tried earplugs? Good luck with that, that's all I can say. Hey, can I friend you?
