He's six years old now, and his parents did the same thing. I think it's partially the breed. Never own a rat terrier.
What's really bad, is he recently developed this truly high-pitched loud yiping noise he occasionally employs, usually for people coming home who live here. It's so painful to be near I've literally held his mouth shut until he stops, and meanwhile he's got this totally panicked look on his face because I'm physically restraining him.
