I couldn't do this quiz accurately. I made guesses. I mostly want to see what other people get. Y'know, the people who actually live in Portland. *giggle*

SE 17th
SE 17th Avenue - You're SE 17th! Tri-Met bus #70 is

a favorite among the locals, and there's

plenty of on-street parking for all the

drivers out there. You pass through historic,

blue-collar sections of Portland like

Brooklyn Neighborhood.

Until you get near Holgate, that is. Then things

get a little rougher. I hope you like the

sound of a railroad yard at night. Next stop,

Milwaukie!

My dad has Depeche Mode's Violator album. Turns out three of my favorite DM songs are on it. Bwah ha ha ha ha....mine now. *yoink*

Holy moly. When will I get time to listen to all of this?

Half this album makes me wanna dance. Dang.

I can still remember when some of this stuff hit the radio, I was still in Iceland at the time. I remember hearing it on the radio that I'd leave on all night. Considering how miserable I was in Iceland, DM doesn't bring up any yucky feelings or anything. Odd. I would expect it to....perhaps it's all been crowded out by memories of dancing to it instead.

*does a happy dance to Personal Jesus* Damn. Now I wanna go out. I'm going out on Saturday, but for Bhangra music. But it is at the Fez.

Work today was...odd. The last hour, there was literally nothing for most of us to do. So we sat around chatting instead. I showed off pictures. I have so many pictures of cats, currently, that it's crazy. I'm tempted to put them up on the liquidaffinity.com and name the gallery "lots of pussy." I'm so ....unoriginal.
aprilstarchild: (the four houses are NOT)
Things I keep forgetting about sharing a house: Most of the people who would be renting to me, aren't going to care that I don't have a checking account, as long as I pay the rent. Many of them are not going to ask for security deposits. They're also rather inexpensive.

In other words, I could move a lot sooner than I was planning. Go me. :^) Need to chat with [livejournal.com profile] ruby_wings about that--there was a reason we all had the date of April 1st pegged for leaving.

Currently looking at:

Definite advantage: location!! I'd be walking/biking distance from, lessee, [livejournal.com profile] jenhowell, People's Co-op, Katrina and Marty, [livejournal.com profile] galactogogue, [livejournal.com profile] sagcat and [livejournal.com profile] ninja_pidgeon, [livejournal.com profile] ourglasslake and [livejournal.com profile] jameslentz, Euphoria Studios (woo bellydance!)....am I forgetting anybody/thing? Oh yeah, like two or three buslines. Holy moly. Also: cheap.

Neato looking house. Doesn't talk about their eating habits, and most places that are vegetarian or mostly-so, tell you. There are so many houses out there full of vegetarians and/or vegans, I can be pretty picky on that one.

There are eight gazillion posts to that part of craigslist every day. Heh.

Yah, I'll figure out the job thing after I move. Admittedly, there is a receptionist position open for the registration desk downtown. I keep waffling on whether or not to apply. I think I will. I also need to write up my dang resume. One way or another, I'm not going to be working where I do now...it's just too dang far from where I want to live. I never did get around to applying at OHSU, ironically enough.

That first house? To get to work at eight am, I'd have to leave at 6:40. Ouch.

I've wanted to live in SE Portland for around five years. It's about time I up and did it. Every time I think about it, I get all excited, and kinda like....omg, am I really going to do that? Finally? I almost can't believe it.

Things to always keep in mind: How noisy is it in there? What kind of internet access is available? Is it a community kinda situation (which is what I'm looking for), or do people pretty much ignore each other?

How many members of your Zodiac sign does it take to change a light bulb? )

That reminds me: one of these days, I'm going to bring "Love On a Rotten Day" to a party. It's just too dang funny. It's also completely unflattering. I'll never forget one line: "Supposedly hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, but a Scorpio woman scorned is Lady Macbeth on crack." It's got Moon, Venus, and Mars information as well, so it gives a pretty full picture. Even if it's not a very pretty one.

Hahaha you can read the first couple pages for Aries on the amazon.com page.
