(no subject)

Spaghetti squash is so cool. You just boil it for a bit, take it out of the water and let it cool, and strings of the stuff come out super-easy with a fork.

The recipe we made, was cheap and tasty, and it made a ton of food. Hah, we're set for several days.

How filling is it, though, compared to an equal amount of pasta? I'm afraid I'd make a gigantic pile only to have James eat it all in one sitting.

It seemed to fill Jarrod up okay...

Spaghetti squash can be pretty huge. The only pot in our house big enough to cook the dang thing, was Jarrod's pressure cooker--and it's meant for canning!!

The recipe we made involved making a marinara sauce with mushrooms, mixing it with the spaghetti squash, and putting it in already-baked acorn squash. Very tasty, definitely very squashy!

I remember the first and last time I tried spagetti squash-- it was nature's evil practical joke. It looked like spagetti but it tastes like stringy winter squash. I HATE winter squash! Now, if it tasted like zuchini, we'd have something...
