Two things!

I saw a young buck this morning. Two-point antlers. I got off the max at Beaverton Creek, and he was nibbling on the grass, not twenty feet from where cars drop people off. He looked up at me a few times but seemed to figure I was harmless. I would have stayed and watched him longer, but I didn't want to be too late to work. I worried about him, though--he had to cross max tracks (during morning rush hour) to get back into the trees, and there were a lot of busy streets nearby.

I've been seeing a lot more deer than usual lately. Is it just the time of year? There's not any hunting that close by, so they don't seem to have any fear of people.

There's probably not really a snowball's chance in hell of me getting to Tyson's to even start looking for a white button-down shirt and my tie. ruby_wings is going as an "emo" Ravenclaw, so I think I'm going to go to Hot Topic and buy a girly-cut Slytherin tshirt, and wear it with my black skirt from last weekend, fishnets, and my docs. I'll be a goth Slytherin! ....sorta. *lol*

I think for the next movie (and the last book), I might attempt to go all-out accurate, with a robe and all.

The problem with them being around people is that they loose their natural fear reactions. And people become used to seeing them and begin to think of them as domesticated. (Not you necessarily, just a sweeping generalization.) Just keep in mind that while they appear calm and docile they are wild animals, and will kick the crap out of you, or stab you with those antlers if you corner them.

Ferile cats look like fluffy but will resist with every muscle, claw and tooth, being captured and petted. Deer are the same only 100 lbs instead of 5.

That's what I figured. Nah, I don't want to threaten something that's about my size or larger that I can't reason with. *lol*
