Mar. 1st, 2006 10:14 pmSo, my contacts, yah?
In mid-december I had the plugs put in. One popped out and was replaced, got lost again, was replaced another time.
Turns out my insurance doesn't cover all of it. From just the appointments where I got them put in the first time, I owe $347. I don't have the bill yet for the one getting replaced twice.
FUCK!!
I didn't even think about whether or not those visits were covered. Didn't cross my mind. I paid my copay and went merrily on my way, more bothered by the inconvenience than anything else.
I'm not even wearing the fucking contacts all day yet. I've worked my way up to wearing them until my lunch break, and by then they're driving me batshit-crazy.
If I wake up in the middle of the night rubbing my eyes, I freak out and get up to look in the mirror to make sure one of the plugs hasn't popped out.
I hope my parents aren't sick of my company yet, becuase they're going to be seeing me for a while longer.
Why the hell does a procedure that takes 10 minutes cost $444 per eye?? What I owe is what the insurance didn't cover. I hate to see what my bill for January and February will be. Yay, I owe a ton of money to my own fucking employer.
