(no subject)

FINALLY finished filling out my application for the cashier/storekeeper job at the Alberta Co-op.

Things that lead me to think I might get it: The head of the board of directors is a friend of mine. Who I've worked with at Shift events. Who told me to put him down as a reference, and has told me more than once that he'd put in a good word for me if I applied there.

Things that lead me to think I might not get it: My most recent experience (outside of the census) is all medical records. Also, the list of questions on the back lead me to believe that I am likely to be passed over in favor of someone with a liberal-arts degree who speaks Spanish or something. Bleh.

Turning it in anyway. And then going to a party...at the house of the guy who's the aforementioned head of directors at the co-op.

It doesn't pay as well as working at New Seasons, and I'd probably get less hours. But I'd still rather work at the co-op.

If you get the job there I can give you your socks :)

I hope you get it! I never applied there because I didn't think I'd get in, seeing as how most of my work experience is behind a compooter or making bajillions of sandwiches for people that don't speak always English. (ahh, tourists.) For some reason, my resume is a deterrent to getting a job.

also it helps if you like michael jackson, one of the women that works there is totally from one of the LJ communities

An LJ community for Michael Jackson, or, like, damnportlanders or something?

I dunno which one. There's ontd_shamone too or something. I didn't realize damnportlanders even liked anything...
