I'm running out shampoo. Ran out of conditioner a while ago. I have the tiniest smudge of lotion left in the tub.

I kept thinking to myself: I should go to Lush. A tub of Big, a bottle of Coulalin, a tub of Dream Cream. Yesssss. I will smell delicious and my hair will be detangled and my skin will be soft.

Except for two things:

1. I have managed to stick to a list at Lush exactly once in my whole life.
2. That shit is expensive.

I'm doing fairly well on my unemployment, but I'm not rolling in dough. Those three items alone and we're pushing a $70 tab. That's not including if I buy lip balm, or a yummy soap, or treats to give away as Christmas presents.

After pondering and thinking about it, I went into New Seasons right after they opened (I'd left Shawn's house with him when he left for work) and bought shampoo, conditioner, and lotion from Nature's Gate. I've used their stuff before and I like it okay. Plus I can refill the bottles at either New Seasons or People's. Not tested on animals, etc etc. I also got some fairly well priced acne stuff (finally found a formula that's vegan that has 2% salicylic acid) and a huge bottle of tea tree soap that was on sale ridiculously cheap. I spent just over $40.

Part of me says, I made the right decision. This stuff is cheaper and I don't have to go out of my way to buy it. But...will it even last as long? I certainly won't enjoy it as much. This stuff doesn't smell bad, but the hair stuff does smell a bit like baby wipes. And the lotion doesn't soak in as fast as Dream Cream.

You'd be surprised how much I over think this stuff. I'm constantly split between thinking I should just get used to using less-expensive stuff I can get at People's, and thinking I deserve to spoil myself.

So that's what it comes down to: The Lush stuff works better and smells a lot better...but it also costs over three times as much. Dammit.
