(I have a beanie baby unicorn tucked into one strap of my bodice.)
Rest of the pictures here, taken by Tomas. A bike pulling a mattress, covered in a blue tarp, and counter-weighted with U-locks! A bike pulling a huge leather couch with a file cabinet resting on it! People staring at Ken's new bike and almost visibly drooling! Lots of people who own Surly Long Haul Truckers!
My to do list for today: Swap out pedals on Miyata for flat pedals. Take off rack and fenders. Ride to Fred Meyer where I can hopefully find some cheap non-leather Sketcher sneakers (I have no sneaker-style shoes, and very few pairs of shoes at all with any kind of tread on them). Take max to Portland International Raceway and take class on cyclocross.
Tomorrow I get to put everything back on my bike, of course. The rack won't be too bad, as the difficult part--putting on the metal supports in the right place and bending them--has been done.
Gah, I wish I had some knobby tires. I wonder if anyone in town has 27-inch knobbies that would fit my frame. I can worry about that if I decide I like 'cross enough to try it at an actual race.
