See, I was picturing a steady drizzly rain with short periods of harder stuff. Just looked outside. More of a steady downpour.
This is when I remember that, although I have a lovely rain jacket and (borrowed) pants combo, I don't have booties or a helmet cover. I'm going to be rockin' the oh-so-sexy plastic-bag-over-shoes look, I think. Well, hm. Maybe I'll put them in my shoes instead, over my socks. Less ugly, less noisy, less likely to get caught on toe cages and ripped. I have a thin wool hat with a visor I can wear under my helmet.
I'm glad that Shawn's tent is pretty damn waterproof. And that I have waterproof covers for my panniers. The covers are pretty funny, they look like big bright yellow shower caps.
I can't remember the last time I got up at 5:30. It's not morning, it's still the middle of the night!
