Because of the crappy weather forecast, we might be going to Champoeg State Park instead of Cape Lookout. 38 miles instead of 71. We'll see.

In the meantime, I've been panicky today, running around trying to get stuff done. I got the new rack installed on the bike without crying. Having the radio on probably helped. It was super frustrating, but it's done and I'm proud of myself because it looks great! I couldn't get the pedals off, but I'm going to double-check that I was turning them the right way, because I know one pedal goes in a different direction than the other (we have multiple repair books at home, don't worry). If I have to ride with flat pedals it's hardly the end of the world, but I know that I go a bit faster (especially uphill) with the toe cages.

Oh! Yesterday: Bike Gallery had to use a huge drill to get out the old seat post. o_O And you can see bumps on the frame from where it had been jammed in. DAMMIT PEOPLE. If a seat post doesn't fit, don't force it!!

Getting to the Community Cycling Center (the only people who I knew had the right size seat post) from there was a pain in the ass, as two buses going up Sandy in a row, already had two bikes on the rack. I ended up walking to 82nd to catch the 72. Which, as always, had crazy people on it.

The people at the Community Cycling Center are so awesome. They had to clean/drill out the frame a little more to get all the gunk out before installing the new seat post, and then were nice enough to drill bigger holes into my new rack so it would fit properly, as newer bike racks have 5mm holes and the Miyata had 6mm holes.

This will be the first time I'm bike camping without Shawn. He usually takes care of most of the food planning and things like that. I probably ended up buying more food than I needed, most of which is either eaten cold, or you just add boiling water. I don't have a stove but I know we'll have a fire, so I went to Andy and Bax and got one of those blue speckled mugs, one big enough to boil some water and then eat out of it (seriously, it's gotta hold a quart); and an aluminum pot grabber. Yay!

Soon my break will be over and I will need to actually pack and then take a shower. I'm going to bed pretty much right after Shawn gets here in a couple of hours.
