Note to self: Do not listen to the Tori Amos song "Leather" just before attempting to go to bed. Even if I love that song. Because if you happen to have a case of insomnia, it will go around and around and around and around in your head. I should have given up and fetched my iPod just to get something else stuck in there.
The rain last night was spectacular. I saw a few lightning flashes but there wasn't any thunder where I was, dammit! Grr. The storm probably contributed to my insomnia.
And I woke up because my allergies were bugging me.
Yeah, I know, whine whine whine.
On a slightly more upbeat note: Look at this wickedly awesome dress! The brand Baby, the Stars Shine Bright made a vampire-themed dress. The design of the dress itself is fairly simple, the print around the skirt is what makes it vampiric. Most of the other lolis prefer it in the other colors, not the red, but I like the red.
In any case, daaaaamn I wish I could buy it (at almost $300, not likely). It's even a perfect size for me. I'd have the awesomest dress ever for Vampire Masquerade next year. Hell, I'd probably wear it every year. WANT!

egl are drooling over this dress, or the other two items made with the same print.

Re: vampires
Date: 2009-09-11 03:35 am (UTC)When Pirates got popular, I was excited, because it was suddenly REALLY easy to find pirate-related gifts and costumes and other SHINEYS.
And... I can imagine it being the same for Vampire fans..... except I *imagine* that for a lot of people (especially older people like me)it's harder to "get behind it" if you don't like/agree with the new trend.... whether it's in the general: ick, vamps don't sparkle, etc..... or in the more political: this is abstinence porn written by a Mormon and also teaches girls that it is okay if their creepy boyfriend stalks them, etc.
It would kinda be like (as a huge pirate nut) if I absolutely despised Pirates of the Caribbean in a way that made me *uncomfortable* to like pirates for a time being.
Which, of course, is not the case.
As for my 10-year-old that I knew for a week: I'm sure she's fine. I was actually more surprised that she thought that such feelings were appropriate to *share* with someone else.... For that, I was honored. But I still had a knee-jerk reaction. :-(
