For the record about the nooses: It is actually against the law in Oregon to put a noose in a tree and leave it there BECAUSE it is notoriously a symbol of a lynching. It's about as tasteless as a burning cross. I found this out not long before the wedding and spoke to the guy who's idea it was. He said, "well... our context is obviously piratical... and we're not *leaving* it up there...." But, just to be sure he went to the resident girl of African decent that lives on a gorgeous sailboat at the Pirates Cove and asked if it would bother her. Her response: "What? Two WHITIES getting hanged? That sounds great!" And it wasn't brought up afterwards. :-D
