Long-overdue post.
Friday night: Went to Ya Hala with Shawn G. It's pretty good, but I dunno if they're better than Nicholas'. Certainly not better than Karam. The mezza was tasty, though.
After we ate, we saw Slumdog Millionaire. I liked it a lot, Shawn G thought it was too obvious how it would end. What's amusing to me is that I had no idea what it was about until that day, when I saw it playing at the theater near Shawn's house and I looked it up. I just knew it was A Big Deal. I live in a cave.
On the other hand, the two coworkers of mine in medical records at my new job, have never eaten hummus and didn't know what it was. WTF?! Okay, so I live in a very specific cave. Good lord, every party/get-together etc I ever attend has hummus. So do a lot of restaurants and bars.
Saturday: Woke up late and was nice and lazy. Shawn and I made pancakes with strawberry sauce and coffee and mimosas.
Went to Vampires Masquerade Ball with
5minutelimit and her friend Adrian. I curled my hair! And it stayed!! Had a good time, danced, met
cupcake_goth, admired people's clothes, wondered why the hell the meat and veggies were often on the same trays with the same tongs.
Sunday: Sweetpea! More people than usual. Yay!
Today: Headache and nausea all the way home from work. Blargh.

Date: 2009-03-31 02:19 am (UTC)oh, funny story - 4 things of hummus randomly appeared at my house. No one knows who left them there. No one is willing to eat them but me so that's my dinner for tonight.

Date: 2009-03-31 03:01 am (UTC)HAHAHAHA Oh man, it's fun to find new uses for hummus:
Thin it out with a little oil and water and put it on noodles or veggies
Use it on any kind of bread product--toast, wraps, etc
Sandwiches
I do get sick of hummus--like the number of places that have it as their only vegan option--but restaurant hummus, from an actual Lebanese restaurant, is something else!!
