I just found the cure for PMS, thanks to an entry in
cheapvegan:
"I take a cup and put in...maybe three heaping tablespoons of sugar two heaping tablespoons of cocoa powder, two tablespoons of flour, about 1/3 a tablespoon of oil/margarine and a splash of milk...stir and add stuff until it looks and tastes like brownie batter, stick it in the microwave until it rises up and stops looking quite so liquidy and then eat it. Nom nom nom really bad for you."
I didn't bother baking it though. MMMMM yummy. (ETA: actually, I couldn't finish it, and it made me kinda queasy. Oops.)
Or you can use this recipe.
On a healthier note: I think I'd eat kale even if it was bad for me. I just love it so much these days.
EDIT: on the subject of food, I did some calculations and decided it was worth the $10 to go to Sweetpea's brunch most Sundays. First of all, it's two meals' worth of food. But also, it's a chance to socialize, which is something that must be taken into account, as is the fact that it's really yummy food that I don't have to cook myself.
Mmmmm....today there was pancakes, peppery potatoes, kale, yummy fucking grits, seitan, tofu scramble with asparagus, and a dessert of cake layered with chocolate pudding and whipped "cream".

...I'm thinking of applying for the Oregon Trail Card. I bet I qualify.

Date: 2009-03-02 11:17 pm (UTC)Orange juice now costs a dollar extra, but I was always sorta surprised it came with the meal to start with. Even if you buy the orange juice, it's still a pretty good bargain--the same size meal with OJ and coffee sets you back several more dollars at Paradox, for instance.
I know that some of my friends do eventually get tired of their food and want variety, but I'm one of those people who enjoys going to the same place and usually ordering the same thing every time, so it's fine with me! I've never disliked anything there, except sometimes the potatoes are too peppery.
Heh. There was once I dreamed about gravy, went to Sweetpea the next morning, and hey! Gravy!! It was awesome.
