Yesterday: applied at netflix and a dentists' office. Today: applied for a job working with people with developmental disabilities. Nothing exciting, just helping them with day-to-day existence. Could be kinda cool, could be totally terrible. Seems like the kind of job where the physical stuff would suck but it could be rewarding. Only issue for me is transportation, yeah I have a DL, but uuuuuh you probably don't want me driving. Seeing as I haven't done it in almost eight years.
Also applied to work doing receiving/data entry for a place at cash4books.net, which is, interestingly, at the same max stop as when I worked for The Portland Clinic. So I'd be back to hauling my ass out to Beavertron every day. The worst part of that job, from the description, is that I'd be working every fucking Friday.
BUT I'd get out at 9:30. Which would leave enough time, really, to get to Midnight Mystery Rides or the Fez.
I'd permanently miss out on coven stuff unless we moved it to a weekend, though. Bummer.
Assuming the pay isn't shit, that job might not be too bad. And if nothing else, it's the kind of experience that could net me a job at Powell's.
So: I've applied for two jobs a day every day so far this week. This is an improvement.
I refuse to do sales or collections. If I get desperate I might rethink it, but for now? NO. I'd rather work at Fred Meyer again, I tell you what.
Okay, WTF. That book website's email bounced. I copy/pasted it directly from the craigslist ad. >_<
Oookay. That's really stupid. And the only other info their website gives is the fax number. All the employment postings lead back to....the craigslist ad! With the same damn email address!!
That's irritating. I wonder if their email program is just down right now, because otherwise they've got to be wondering why they're getting no emails.
What's ironic is that the more I poke around the website for the book company, the more I like them!
