aprilstarchildCrocheting rickrack, for a skirt I have mostly planned in my head, but can't sew because I don't have a machine or the space to draft the pattern, is an excellent use of my time. /sarcasm
Gored skirt, four panels, at the waist it'll be twice as wide around as my actual waist, gathered into a mostly-flat waistband. Haven't figured that part out yet. Anyway, the bottom width will be wider than the top. And there will be black crocheted rickrack near the hem.
Gah.
On the upside: it's easy and fast to crochet rickrack.
Foundation row: chain 3
Row one: into 1st ch, work 1dc and 1sc, turn.
Row two: ch2, work 1dc and 1sc in sc of previous row, turn.
Repeat row two until it's as long as you want it. Whee.
Yet another reason to visit Katrina's new studio. She's got lots of custom work, but has said she'd love to sew lots of Lolita stuff, and I've told her I have lots of ideas, so really, this could work out.
Besides, we could always sell the skirt.
