For the last three nights, I have gone out with bike-y people for beer and food. Once for the Shift meet-up, once for a pro-Sam Adams poster-making party, and then the end of the rally itself yesterday night (I missed it because I was still at work, booo!).

Tonight I'm going to Roller Derby with Lillian. We're sneaking in booze. And hopefully popcorn. Because we're cheap and because their vegan options are pretty much nil.

Tomorrow I really wish I could go on a group ride of SW Portland, but I don't want to be late for Katrina's awesome party that night. She's having a variation on a Burns Supper. I don't think she realizes there's such a thing as vegan haggis, so I might buy some at Food Fight! just for the entertainment value. I need to find a poem to read or a song to sing. Maybe I'll teach everyone one of my chorus songs?

Riding my bike in deepest Beaver-Tron (aka Beaverton): scary. But the bus runs rarely out there on Sunday nights. Yay for reflective stuff and bright lights.

Monday night there's square dancing to benefit the BTA (Bicycle Transportation Alliance).

Soooo....yeah. My life is busy and good right now. :^)

I'll be working merch at roller derby. Come say hi!

Biking around most of beaverton is the same or better than much of portland- bike lanes exist. You may, cool or not, want to consider the sidewalk in some places.

I might!

I used to live and work in Beaverton, and drivers just aren't looking for you the way they are in Portland. Which isn't to say that Portland riding is perfect....but the drivers in Beaverton just seem less considerate of cyclists.
