Hey! A couple of neighbors are over here for dinner. At first I was anti-social but they're neato people. The guy made a bike for his...I think girlfriend? I don't think they're married. In any case, he made the frame and everything. It's to her measurements and she's about my height, and it's a road bike, with teeny narrow tires, which I've never ridden before, and they offered to have me try it.
I didn't even get down the driveway. I felt so far off the ground (and the frame was the right size, I'll have you know) and I was leaning so far over (in comparison to what I'm used to) and I slipped forward off the seat and managed to bang part of my crotch on the cross bar--thankfully not hard, it only hurt for a moment and wasn't too bad.
*rolls eyes* That seems pathetic to me somehow.
I think I'll stick with my old-ass bike for now. Speaking of which, he said I can probably find wheels for it for free or almost-free at the Community Cycling Center on Alberta, as long as I don't mind having secondhand. Which, of course, I don't mind at all--I think I prefer it.
Oh, and
emmagrant01 has started posting post-HP7 fic. Finally. Over here, if you're interested. Slash, of course. I haven't finished it yet, but I'm certainly intrigued. Although lordy only knows, most of fandom is fleeing LJ (due to The Powers That Be being slightly moronic again), which almost makes me cry. Or would, if I was more involved in the fandom...I dunno. I like the idea that it's going on, whether or not I'm involved, and that I can just tap into it anytime I have the time.
On the computer front, I get paid this week, and I'll be damned if I'm not getting my laptop repaired. I mean it this time. *LOL*
