Hey!
dragon_mintz! I get to post to you twice!! *lol*
The company with Rachel Brice in it? The Indigo? They're going to be at the Aladdin on May 16th. I'm going. Duh.
Any other local bellydance enthusiasts on my list? You won't want to miss this.
The official blurb:
"Vintage Cabaret with ragged edges in a strange brew of Belly Dance with Ragtime, Vaudevillian, Mid-Eastern and Gypsy music. Sometimes enchanting, sometimes macabre, often raucous, but always delightful, these performers breathe new life into the movement and spectacle of a bygone era in this knockdown revue."
You can listen to a bunch of the music on the myspace page I linked. I am *so* loving it. It seems perfect for something just a couple of weeks before Convergence. There's also a video if you're curious about their style of bellydance (well, they're being goofy in a lot of the vid, but also there's dancing).
