aprilstarchild*points to subject* Jarrod and I rented the Margaret Cho DVD, Notorious C.H.O., and laughed our asses off.
I can't get my rat pictures to upload correctly. *loud swearing* So y'all are safe for now.
Now that we can tell which one is which, their personalities are really starting to show. Merry is the most hyperactive rat I've ever met. We opened the cage earlier because they've learned to climb in and out on their own. Sam comes out and kinda wanders around, then finds a spot she likes and just stays there, mostly. But Merry's like..."I'm gonna run up the futon! And then down! And run up to your shoulder! And kiss your face! And down your shirt! And then run behind the laundry! And back and forth on the futon seventeen times! Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!" Catching her can be a problem...unless you have food. I was eating these pastry things earlier with smoked tofu and onions and tomatoes that I'd made, and I made the mistake of giving her a crumb of the crust. Next thing I know, she's climbing to the end of my arm and just eating my food while I'm trying to eat it. I was so startled I just let her do it, which seems to have set an unfortunate precedent, as she seems to believe that all human food is also her food.
Frodo and Pippin are much shyer. In fact, if we leave the cage open during their "free range" time, they often just climb back in. Meanwhile, I feel horribly guilty putting Merry back in, because she will climb to the point of the cage nearest the closest human, and hold onto the bars, and stick her face out as far as it will go. You can almost hear her wailing, "Let me ooooouuut!"
Sam is already the biggest of the bunch...and she seems to prefer, when in the cage, to sit in the food. I'm not sure why...to protect it?
I'm so in love with them, it's ridiculous.
