It's official--I'm going to apply for the entry-level cashier job currently open at Powell's Books. I figure that closer to the holidays it'll be full-time, and I won't have to buy a bus pass anymore. I'll probably get paid about what I do now and I'll like it better. Money might be tight, but I'll deal.
If they decide to hire me, I'm giving my notice, like, that day.
Yes, I'm still going to look into getting a job at OHSU etc., but I think spending some time working less would be wonderful. Even if some of it is nights and weekends.
This is probably a tranitory thing--like until the holidays are over. Then again, maybe not. We'll just have to see.
I dunno. The thought that I have options is suddenly very liberating. Jarrod being so supportive about the whole thing is just fantastic. I feel like I can breathe for the first time in ages. Isn't that odd?

Date: 2006-10-23 06:27 pm (UTC)I do think that if thinking about quitting a job makes you feel so good, then it's probably definitely time to quit. Jen says that if it ever makes you cry, you should quit immediately. There are lots of other jobs out there.
