OMG. The party yesterday was fun. The cupcakes I made (pumpkin with chocolate chips and cinnamon icing, vanilla with chocolate chips and buttercream icing) were really popular, and there's exactly one left. ourglasslake brought a zombie cake! It was really awesome. We watched the Japanese version of The Grudge, and it really wasn't terribly frightening. Creepy in places, but not scary. There was Apples to Apples, and I won a game! Yes!!

Early on, Jarrod and I went to a thing for a (former) coworker of his who was retiring from the Navy Reserves (not the National Guard). They had a huge german shepherd named Lucy, the same name as our cat! It was neato to see Jarrod talk to someone he worked with. There were people there in Navy uniforms, which I wasn't used to seeing anymore.

Anyway. Jarrod and I are starving...I hardly ate any real food yesterday. Mostly junk. So we're going to take a shower and go to the Paradox Cafe, because I kept dreaming about plates covered in biscuits and gravy and mushrooms and tofu...

I was definitely on cake overload mode Saturday night (and then leftover birthday cake Sunday morning? What was I thinking?), but I am still fantasizing about more of those pumpkin cupcakes. Mmm.

I'm going to a halloween party this sunday, and I'm going to bring a batch or two. :^) They're just too tasty!
