I finished reading Neverwhere late last night. Richard Mayhew reminds me a lot of Arthur Dent. "WTF was that? WTF am I doing here? Am I supposed to believe that what I just saw actually happened?!?"

Just remember, "DON'T PANIC."

Hah, Richard Mayhew didn't have anyone/anything telling him not to panic. It wouldn't have done much good anyhow.

I just finished Neverwhere a couple nights ago. I agree with the observation that Richard Mayhew and Arthur Dent are very similar. They both have a very similar situation. You take an ordinary man and you put him in extraordinary circumstances. Actually, I'm finding a lot of Neil Gaiman's heroes are like that.

I liked Neverwhere, but it wasn't my favorite of the books. I read Anasi Boys a couple weeks ago, and I absolutely loved it. I'm starting on American Gods right now.

Isn't American Gods supposed to come first? *lol*

I think re: Arther/Richard: They're both British men trying to pretend everything is normal and they're fine, when it isn't and they aren't.

Yeah it is. Ryan was going to let me borrow his copy of American Gods, but he couldn't find it... And then I was at Freddie's one day and they had Anasi Boys, but not American Gods, and I just finished the movies in fifteen minutes book and wanted to get more Neil Gaiman books so I read it first on impulse. Then I went and got American Gods from a used book store last weekend. *L*
