I just finished Neverwhere a couple nights ago. I agree with the observation that Richard Mayhew and Arthur Dent are very similar. They both have a very similar situation. You take an ordinary man and you put him in extraordinary circumstances. Actually, I'm finding a lot of Neil Gaiman's heroes are like that.

I liked Neverwhere, but it wasn't my favorite of the books. I read Anasi Boys a couple weeks ago, and I absolutely loved it. I'm starting on American Gods right now.
