EDIT: Heh. My email is working again. Wheee!
My email's down until likely Sunday. Boo...oh well. Heh. It's not like I don't have enough to read--I'm about halfway through Wuthering Heights (OMG! The drama!! The angst!! The sharp class divisions!!), and I have the new issue of Herbivore, and I found a used copy of Neverwhere.
I was also about halfway through a long-ass fanfiction.
My harp is now tuneable--I have an electric tuner and the string is properly replaced. I also bought some music. It's a book of Irish songs, most of which I don't know (although I did get the CD to go with it). I got it for three songs--She Moved Through the Fair, My Lagan Love, and A Rose E'er Blooming. The first two are even arranged for a harp as small as mine!! It's one of the Sylvia Woods books, which means every song has two arrangements, one simpler and one harder. She also, handily enough, puts fingering marks on the music. So hopefully it won't be long before I can, y'know, actually play something, not including picking out Scarborough Fair and All Through the Night sans left-hand-part.
I just realized that the three songs in the book, are ones that Charlotte Church has sung. I guess I know what I like. *lol*
I took the harp out while at work. It was a source of much amusement for the other medrecs employees. I told people they could touch it, and every time I looked, there was someone doing glissandos, or trying to pick out melodies (despite how out of tune it was). I showed one person how to hold their hand properly. It was fun.
Speaking of work, my supervisor is on vacation next week. He appointed me and another person to be co-"lead" people next week. There are benefits to seniority. :^) So I'm going to get a teensy taste of managing, which is damn scary. That, and dealing with all the complaints from the rest of the building. *lol* Dave usually gets all that crap. "Why don't I have this chart!?!?!" Uh....dunno?
I've got two hours before my ride is here. I do need to take a shower at some point. I wish I could calm down enough to take a nap, I could use one, but I'm just too excited about going out. Heh. I got a ride home from the max station to my house, it's so fucking cold. And my harp, in that wind, acts like a sail!

Date: 2006-02-21 12:50 am (UTC)Heh. A couple years ago I made a rant-y post about pedal harp vs. lever harp (aka the kind they play in symphonies vs. "folk" harps) and I got a comment from a friend saying, "OMG, I know someone who can get into a rant about harps!" *lol*
