I've done this before, but I'm going to do it again. Like a sheep.

A problem that persists with LJ-friends: we all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about each other.

I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about.

Then, if you like, post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.

What is the most self-empowering decision you have ever made?

The first thing that leaped to mind was the tree-sitting thing.

I thought about something, I made sure all my ducks were in a row (in a manner of speaking) and I did it.

But I had a lot of support. I owe Tyson, big time. I mean, yeah he helped monetarily. He paid my car payments, he paid my insurance (not cheap, those two alone added up to $350 a month). I lived with him and his mom and brother. He would come and pick me up on a day's notice. If I just really needed a shower, or a night in an actual bed, I'd call him up at six something before he left for work, and he'd come pick me up after he clocked out around five--and it's almost two hours each way.

Quitting my job etc to go back to school would be on there, but all my happy feelings about that are squished by me messing up, and then spending almost a year doing jack shit except mooching off of Tyson's family.

I knew that one already.

Let me rephrase the question, what is the most empowering decision you have made that did not involve political activism in any form?

*drawing a blank*

Uh, breaking it off with Tony? Moving into that apartment with Bink?

Oooh, thought of something that isn't all fugged up by what came after. Ha. Chorus. I still can't get over the idea that something close to 140 women all take the time out of their freakishly busy lives (most of us work, many have kids etc.) to get together and create something as a unit. We all pay to be there, we all spend time and energy on it, and then we get to share it with an audience of our loved ones and the public.

I mean, that's just cool. I decided I was going to sing, and I did. Several times now, even.

I need to make the harp thing a repeat, or some dancing. Something more than my singing. Hm...

Not as an adult. When I was younger and my brothers got annoying I'd whack'em one.

What was a significant event in your life that, at the time, seemed negative, but turned into a positive one? Why?

From: [identity profile] aprilstarchild.livejournal.com
Ha, I'm having trouble thinking of anything. Either it was a semi-positive thing when it happened, or it still seems negative in retrospect, like having to quit school.

Because you've mentioned it often, but I don't remember ever asking about the specifics, what exactly is "your type" with regards to both the other and the same gender?

Date: 2006-01-19 04:31 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] aprilstarchild.livejournal.com
Reasonably outgoing and/or social. Constantly curious about life, interested in other people, caring about the world in general.

Physically? In guys I tend to like one of two types: either dark hair and blue eyes, or blond surfer-boy types. In girls, I like a little heavier than myself....don't have a lot of specifics other than that. I do tend to have a taste for pixie-ish boy-ish types, even if they're normally thinner than I'd prefer. Yeah. *cough*

I like at least enough hair to get a good handful, soft and clean, on either gender.

What three things (besides the basic survival things) do you think about every day?

Date: 2006-01-19 04:45 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] aprilstarchild.livejournal.com
Sex (this might count as a basic survival thing)
Music (my mp3 player goes everywhere I go)
Things I wish I could do, had I more time and/or money

I hope you don't find these questions too offensive...although I know you're pretty open minded.

How old were you when you first discovered the JOYS of masturbation...and...have you ever "gotten it on" with a shower head?

If you don't feel like answering then don't.

Heh. I was a, er, late bloomer: 21. Seriously.

I've tried to get it on with a shower head, but I get all distracted by the idea that I'm wasting water!

Wow. I can't say that isn't a surprise. I expected like...11...12...haha.

That reminds me of the Sesame Street song...DON'T WASTE WATERRRRRRRRR...

If you could live anywhere you wanted, where would you live? Country, city, type of house, where would it be? I want to know lots of details!

my guess before April answers is New Zealand on a farm raising goats.

I like Matt's answer.

But a truer one: In SE Portland, in an older house with a garden. I may get my wish soon enough, but I'll be sharing the house.

I also love the Oregon Coast, but it's too far from all the fun stuff in Portland.

Speaking of older houses with gardens, the downstairs of our house is supposedly going to be up for rent on Feb 1st, just so you know.

okay, this question is better anyways.
I don't want names, but count up every time you've ever fallen in love and give out that number. Really in love. Like the kind that you know it in your intestines.

This is a hard one, because even after the fact I have a hard time telling between infatuation and love.

Two, definitely.
