Wow. Long entry.

I am a huge dipshit.
No. I sometimes do stupid things. Doing stupid things teaches me not to do said stupid things in the future. In theory. I've done this one, many times before. Oy. *headslap*
For instance--I knew that rides tonight would be iffy. But did I plan ahead of time?? Pssht. No.
I have a ride there, no problem. I'm at
sagcat and
ninja_pidgeon's place and am hitching with them. I can't come back here to sleep, no matter what: They have five cats. Sleeping on the couch would be an invitation for a really really bad allergy attack.
I have an offer to stay at
jameslentz and
ourglasslake's place. Which is handy, because it's almost literally spitting distance from my sectional rehearsal tomorrow, and I won't have to get up early, in order to take tri-met to around SE 69th and Powell from Beaverton on a Sunday, by eleven am. I'll be without my sheet music, but that's not the end of the world, I can share with someone.
So! I have three options:
1. Annoyingly beg someone for a ride to
ourglasslake's place when I get to Noir. Most of my usual options (the people who live in Westside) aren't available (they're all cramming in one car, no room), so that's out. The people here are taking a cab back and are planning on drinking and therefore won't be in a condition to drive me. I don't know who else is going, and/or where said people live. Suckage.
2. The #14 (which stops a block from where I'm crashing) bus will arrive at 12th and Hawthorne at 1:43 am. I could, in theory, walk up to Hawthorne and catch the bus. However, it's unbelievable cold outside, I won't be wearing much clothing, and I'll probably have a little alcohol in me. It's approximately twelve blocks to Hawthorne from there. Not happening.
3. Most likely: Catch the taxi with
ninja_pidgeon and
sagcat, and ride it to
ourglasslake's place from there. I pulled extra money out of the ATM, knowing it was the most likely outcome.
I had fun at
jenhowell's place. I made Christmas/Yule/Hannukah cards for a few people. I didn't decide, "Oh, I need to make a card for so-and-so," I just flipped through magazines and postcards and pictures until I saw something that made me think of someone. So I made four. All but one are rather heavy on the glitter, but Abuse of Glitter is not a felony. It probably should be.
I had halfway decent handwriting for most of them. Although it's tricky to write legibly with Elmer's Glue.
jenhowell literally lives around the block from People's Co-op. I'm so freakishly jealous. I had just decided the other day, for sure, that I'm going to try to unionize The Portland Clinic. But now of course, I just want to get my ass into SE Portland, even if I have to get a really shitty job to do it. Too bad her house isn't currently looking for a roomate. I'd be busting ass trying to figure something out.
The clothing exchange went well--I got rid of some things that no longer fit. I got two shirts and a dress. The dress kicks ass. I'm already commited to wearing my corset tonight, but the next time I go to Noir? Doood. It's heavily Gothic Lolita-influenced. It's black and relatively short, rather ruffly. It comes with a seperate fabric collar that laces. I'm thinking of taking it in a teeny bit on the sides. I do need to sew some buttons on, plus the buttons already on it don't look all too secure. Hell, I might try to sew up the front, just leaving enough room for me to get into it and button up just the top couple. Otherwise I worry about gaps and flashing people. I'm also seriously thinking about finding a short poofy black crinoline to wear underneath, as that's the proper way to wear it.
That and my striped stockings with garters, and pigtails, and Oh Holy Shit. That's hot. Go me. :^)
Other cool things I saw today: People in Star Wars outfits ringing the bell for the Salvation Army outside the downtown Meier and Frank. Like, a dozen stormtroopers, a kid in an ewok outfit, a Darth Vader, and a Princess Leia. I don't normally give money to The Salvation Army, because they won't take money from gay rights organizations, that kind of thing. But, dood. I gave them a dollar, and stopped and said I had to give a buck to geeks out for a good cause.
