Your three favorite spices, oils, or food flavorings:
1) Garlic. It goes in everything that isn't sweet. My parents have a garlic press, which makes life happy.
2) Olive oil. As high a quality as I can afford. The last time I bought some, I went to New Seasons and checked out the price per ounce, and it really usually is cheaper to buy a bigger bottle.
3) Freshly ground black pepper. Just before serving.
Your three favorite dishes, baked goods, etc. that you make:
1) Pomodoro sauce. Cheap, easy, nutritious, damn tasty
2) Somen/Udon with "rice seasoning" and sesame oil on it, right now
3) Chocolate chip cookies
Your three favorite foods you buy at the store: (as in, already made, not whole foods)
1) Margarine. Yay for Earth Balance! I used to eat bits of butter (like, up to a tbsp at at time) so finding a tasty margarine was a high priority when I went vegan.
2) Cereal.
3) Soy milk. Usually consumed with cereal. Often more than once per day.
Your three favorite meals to order in a restaurant:
1) Spaghetti Pomodoro from La Terraza
2) Vegetarian Mezza from Hoda's or Karam
3) Steve's Macaroni and "Cheese" from The Paradox Cafe
Your Three Favorite Vegetables:
1) broccoli--ironically, I hated it as a kid
2) tomatoes (yes I know that's really a fruit)
3) carrots, probably
I just realized I mostly only eat those first two, and salads. I need to expand my repetoire.
Three Favorite Fruits
1) raspberries
2) blueberries
3) strawberries
One caveat to this: I almost always only buy these local and in season. Preferably at the farmer's market. In particular, I like my raspberries so ripe that in one more day they'd be mush.
Three Places You Most Often Buy Food:
1) Fred Meyer. It's walking distance.
2) Whole Foods on Burnside--it's on my way to chorus, and I love their selection
3) Wild Oats. Right next to chorus, but a crappy selection, especially in the deli, for a vegan
Top Three Things You Consider When Buying Food:
1) Is it vegan?
2) Is it overpriced?
3) Will I cook this before it rots and/or I forget I have it?
Three Things You'd Want me to Make For Dinner, if you came to my house??
1) Make something I haven't tried before. Show me new and tasty foods.
CPR (Concert preperation readiness) at chorus was no big deal. I stressed out way too much over it. Apparently in the ten years Joan's been the director, she's only told one or two people they couldn't sing in the concert. She does give you The Evil Look if you're obviously lost though. I felt sorry for the one alto 2 who was singing CPR. Also, Joan sprained her ankle yesterday, and had crutches. And a cold. Poor thing.

Date: 2005-12-10 05:26 pm (UTC)I need to buy a case and ask Chris to drive me home with it. It's a pain in the butt to have to buy one or two boxes at a time, them things are heavy! And I hate running out.
