I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Retreat is exhausting.
I know more of these songs than I thought. A huge relief, because I missed enough rehearsals to have to do CPR on Thursday. CPR (Concert Preparation Readiness) is where anyone who's missed more than two rehearsals, gets together in a group around the piano and Joan and she has us sing parts of every song (as a group, not solo) to make sure we actually have them memorized. I also got a new, unscratched copy of one of the rehearsal CDs. The other one (with all the parts, not just the A1) is around here somewhere, I know it. I've looked before, and I'll look again. Some of the songs, knowing just my part isn't all that helpful, I need to know when to stop and start (Joan usually does cue us, but not always, especially when different parts start in different places) and how my part compares with the others....
I've been wearing my contacts since around lunch. They're kinda blurry a lot of the time, like when there's a greasy spot on my glasses or something. I don't know if my eyes are still getting used to them, or maybe they're just dirty? They cleared up a bit when I cleaned them earlier, but not for long. Ew, do I just have yucky eyes or something?
I've gotten used to them enough, that earlier when I sneezed I freaked out thinking it had popped out, because I couldn't feel it for sure. If I close my eyes real slow I can still feel the edges. Also, I could still see out of that eye, that was a dead giveaway. *lol*
I should have gotten these damn things years ago. Don't know what I'll do when I go camping--a lot of SCA/Pirate events, there's no running water. It'll be a pain in the ass, either I'll have to bring some extra water for myself to wash my hands and clean my contacts, or my oh-so-period (not) glasses will still be part of my garb.
During the talent show I actually got up the guts to stand up there solo and sing Twiddles. I'm so proud of myself. It got lots of laughs and hooting. Didn't bring the harp, though. Next term for sure. :^)
I need to double check to make sure I have a ride tomorrow, and then take my shower and fall into bed, methinks.
silverrose79 has officially sent the email to be put on the waiting list for Aurora Chorus. *iz excited*
