You know you're an SCA dork when this sounds like the most fun you've had in a while.

It's an Ithra (not sure the technical definition, but it's classes on a variety of SCA-related topics), and it's cheap, and it's in Forest Grove. All sorts of fun dorky stuff.

My only problem is that a some of the classes I want to take are happening at the same time!

I'm mostly interested in sewing and dancing and music (wooo, a harp class!!), which is predictable, of course.

I need to register soon.

I jammed my thumbnail yesterday, and it hurts like crazy. The task that made it hurt is what I'll be doing for the next four days. @#%$!!

I've always been interested in the SCA, but I've never had the ovaries to do anything like that by myself (and I've never known anyone else who was into it). I think that looks INCREDIBLY fun. Too bad I'm getting married that day!

I think your presently-scheduled engagement is a tad more important. *lol*

We live in the kingdom of An Tir, and I believe you're in ....Dragons Mist? Either that or the Barony of the Three Mountains. I can never remember which is Portland-centric and which is Beaverton etc. If you google it though, you'll eventually find lists of local events and whatnot.

I'm not a proper member of the SCA quite yet (to be honest, a lot of SCAdians are none too fond of the pirates, even when we're well-behaved, because we tend to be noisy and boisterous), but I hope to have an actual SCA period persona soon (yay for the Anglo-Saxons and their unpronounceable names).

What I'm getting to, is that the next time I go to an actual SCA event, whether camping or day-tripping, I shall make sure to invite you. Depending on what size you wear, I can even loan you clothing--although all camping events have a Gold Key booth where you can borrow clothes for a small cleaning fee.

Three Mountains. Seriously, I'm into this...I just have never gone. I'm a member of the Yahoo Group, too! But I'm way too lame.

I doubt I'd fit into your garb, but I would LOVE to go to an event. :)
