First thing: I need to use a scanner. When my parents get back I'll ask about using my dad's....if the lid doesn't have to be down for the flatbed to work, it won't be a problem.

See, there's this picture in an old-ass photo album of my parents that I want to use as an LJ icon. In it, I'm toddler-age and sitting on the floor. I'm wearing a tshirt that says, "I'm Somebody Special" and I have an Easter basket upside-down on my head. I mean, it's so....me. I showed it to [livejournal.com profile] dragon_mintz and it made her laugh.

I can't take the picture out of the album. The album was a cheapie and hasn't been good to the photos. There's glue on the pages (which has become an unattractive shade of yellow) and plastic overlay over the photos. There's also a thin piece of plastic on the edges of pages, in theory holding in the pictures, but most of them are are in the process of peeling off. The pages don't come out, either.

The whole photo album covers a span of time from when just after my parents got married, until DJ is a few months old, I believe. So it's mostly pictures of me and my parents. Otherwise known as First Kid Disease: Look what we did. We must take thousands of pictures.

There are lots of pictures of DJ and Chris, but they're all in boxes or something somewhere.

Maybe I'll look for Punky Brewster icons. That would rock, yo.

And now, cooking with April:

Cheap-ass food:

One packet of ramen (one of the brands' Oriental flavor is vegan. I can never remember which one)
Handful of some other kind of pasta (if spaghetti, break it in half)

Boil a little more water than you usually use. Add non-ramen noodles, and set a timer for three minutes less than the package directions. When the timer goes off, add the ramen and flavor packet and set for three more. Get a colander and a largeish bowl ready. When it's all done, pour some of the broth into the bowl, and then pour the rest of the noodles into the colander and then quickly into the bowl. Eat, preferably in front of the computer while posting to LJ.

Variations: add one of those tiny cans of mushrooms.

To Do List:

*Turn on radio
*Take clean dishes out of dishwasher, set aside the ones that didn't get clean because our stupid dishwasher's top rack is broken, even though the dishwasher was goddamn expensive.
*Wash dishes, using dishwasher for drying rack
*Clean anything off the kitchen counter that isn't the mess of someone other than me and [livejournal.com profile] ruby_wings--in other words, if we didn't make the mess, leave it there
*Clean off dining room table except for Saturday's paper
*Consolidate all of my crap that's downstairs and take upstairs. This will take several trips. Oy vey.
*Drag the old-ass plastic shelving out of the bedroom at the end of the hall, because there's so much stuff in there that I can't get to the actual dresser without moving a lot of stuff and I'm too lazy.
*Semi-neatly put clothes, my lamp, and the picture [livejournal.com profile] dragon_mintz bought me from Faerieworlds, on the shelving.
*Decide I'm done for the day, peruse the paper, possibly indulge in fanfiction

Random note: Ill Will Press has another Foamy cartoon. C'mon, y'know you wanna watch it.

Random note, pt duex: I think I actually remembered everything I needed from [livejournal.com profile] dragon_mintz's apartment. o_0 That never happens. I even remembered the picture, and my camera cable, and my cell phone charger. Go me.

For both of us! *whew!*

Yes, adequate sleep feels good. I can function on less, but you always feel a little tired, and if I sit down for too long I get sleepy... I've taken lots of naps on my lunch breaks, which actually help quite a bit. It's too bad you can't. :-(

I don't function well after a short nap anyway so it doesn't bug me too much :)

Scanners....

There are two, here at the Kaeder Residence, aka the Kaeder Chocolate Factory. You're certainly welcome to come over... and mapquest does actually provide decent directions to this place (that is not always the case). Just call ahead - I'm in the directory, and we're also in the phone book.

I'm going to ask my parents about it when they come back.

If theirs isn't suitable, I'll get back to you. :-)
