I'm on page 469. No spoilers!!

Anyway.

So the Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter of slashfic are not the Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy of the books. Mentally I've always had a good strong line between them, just as I do for Tolkien/Peter Jackson's hobbits, and slashfic hobbits. (Actually, that one's a wee bit trickier, because I tend to visualize the slashy hobbits like the ones in the movies. Definitely a line between that and Tolkien, though.)

So when I reading at three am and saw the following line, I did quite the double-take and started to giggle at myself:

"Harry, however, had never been less interested in Quidditch; he was reapidly becoming obsessed with Draco Malfoy. "

*snort* *giggle* Near the top of page 409 (American edition), if you care.

Waiting for a call-back from Athir. Then, going back to the farm to clean out my room. I doubt I'll get it all done today, but damn if I'm not going to try.

ok no offense but you're coming off my friends list until I get finished with the book. You aren't going to be able to help yourself and talk about it. Which is perfectly understandable, and total within your rights to do, but I don't want to know anything until I actually read that line.

It wasn't technically a spoiler in that it didn't give away the plot, I just want to experience the book without knowing anything about it. I won't talk to Lani about it either, I throw my hands in front of my eyes and start singing. And I banned yahoo entertainment news. You should have seen me yelling at the tv when they showed JK Rowling reading the passage to those kids. Fingers in my ears, eyes screwed shut, singing mary had a little lamb. I only turn the tv on now to watch something from netflix.

I've gone round the bend I know. But if the little men in white coats come take me away I'll have more time to read the book and then all will return to normal :)

Somebody on my friends list who obviously hasn't read the books, posted something from a british paper, that unfortunately gave away a rather large plot point. So while all my other friends were pulling a Lani (OMG WTF???) I was sitting there going, "I knew it!" I am so pissed.

I really wanted you to know that I'm not unfriending you though, I'm boycotting all things harry potter until I finish the book. I don't want to stop anyone else from talking about it because half the fun is talking about it when you get done. So really I'm just going into forced isolation.

I thought about that too. I think that JK got kidnapped and there's some crazed slashficcer who's using the last two books for the greatest fanfic ever. It'll be SLASH and it'll be CANON! Mwahahahaha!

Well, I guess I have two OTPS: Harry/Ginny and Harry/Draco. I have two for Lord of the Rings, as well: Merry/Pippin and Frodo/Sam/Rosie, which got the cutesy name of "OT3".

Technically OTP is One True Pairing, so I guess I suck at that, eh?

I did see that link and I'm going to be reading it soon.
I squee'd or made other noises about four times this book, which is a record for HP.

I'm a total Harry/Ginny shipper, but mostly because I'm such a Ginny fan.
