Nowhere done with my friends list, and I should be in bed already, but I need a shower. Oy! Tyson and Cherie picked me up and then had to run errands, so I didn't get actually home until eight pm. Yesterday the internet was down. Yay comcast.
But first: Answer me this, are debt collectors allowed to call me at work? Cherie says no. When I told her the debt collector trying to get my PCC debt called me at work, she got really angry and told me that if she calls me again, I should ask for her supervisor's name and phone number and email, and insist on only being contacted via email/physical letters, or that I'll have them talking to a lawyer.
This woman from the collections agency is a total bitch. Keep in mind, I've talked to debt collectors before. Most of them are just doing their job, y'know? I've had a few crankies, but none of them have been outright assholes. This one? Outright asshole. She refuses to let me pay a little bit of the debt, oh no, she wants me asking every relative and friend to loan me cash from their credit cards if they have to, so that I can pay all $1400 of it at once.
Well, christ lady. You can have it a bit at a time, or you can NOT GET IT. That's really your decision, now, isn't it??
First of all, I didn't get any collection notices on my PCC debt. I haven't received a letter from them in something like a year. So don't tell me you've sent a few notices, because you haven't. Secondly, I'm never again telling a debt collector where I work, because apparently they look up the number and call me there! Third: If any of you fuckers interrupt me when I'm talking ever again, for any reason, I'm hanging up. Kinda like I did today, while saying, "DON'T CALL ME AT WORK."
All of the ones I've talked to in the past have made a big deal about being willing to work with me--aka, I pay what I can when I can, but as long as I keep paying something they leave me alone. But no, she wants it all right now. Well, it ain't happening. Even if I could make it happen? I wouldn't. Because she's just such a bitch about it.
The other advice I got from Cherie was to pay directly to PCC, and if they tell me it's in collections, calmly inform them that collections won't let me pay a bit at a time. In other words, they're literally refusing payment, which is also illegal apparently.
Fuckers.
