Help, my medication's wearing off and I can't shut up!!

Have gotten into some debate about ADD in veganpeople, of all things. *sigh* I knew that would happen after I posted. *shrug*

On the other hand, I'm always surprised to realize how much I know. I am the shiznit.

Looked up anatomy and physiology at PCC. To take the one for science majors, you have to take Biology. To take Bio, you have to take Chemistry. To take Chemistry, you have to have math. Except for the math, these are three-term series of five credits a term.

*bangs head on wall* darksage96, you are bonkers. The medical field is not for me.

The fact that I'm thinking about it shows how fucking crazy I can be.

Besides, who the fuck is going to fund naturopathic studies on ADD?? Unless it ended with something you could patent, well; nobody, that's who. Unless I find some rich dot-commer who doesn't react to the medications or something.

Don't want to be an MD. Those residencies are goddamn abusive. Not happening. LPN? They don't design research. Grrr.

In other news, I think I could live on pasta, olive oil, garlic, and some canned tomatoes here and there.

Welcome to the world of pre-reqs. Get used to them. YOU WILL NEED MATH in order to really understand anything else.

Don't be surprised that there is a line of pre-reqs for the classes that you are interested in. In one sense, it means the classes will take advantage of all those pre-req classes and be able to focus on the more complicated and higher level theory and application without getting bogged down by basic shit. That's a plus. It means those classes should be even more interesting to you.

That's a plus. It makes you happy. Really.

So... which math is next for you?

I know what a pre-req is, you silly person. Social science does have them here and there.

I suck at math. I suck at laboratory science. I will not do well in a lab unless I can do the whole thing by myself, and/or at a different time when my classmates aren't all around me; and I don't know of many teachers that will allow that, disability or no. Everyone running around and/or having to do things out of order and/or trying to figure out who does what....I don't like it, and I don't do well, because it's the epitome of distraction.

Also, I don't do well with dissection. It's not (always) an animal rights issue--I just get really nauseated. One of the reasons I got a D in Marine Biology is because it was dissection-heavy and I left several of them early because I couldn't handle it. I did not enjoy sawing through a shark's head and poking at its brains, or cutting open sea urchins.

I just suck at hard science in general. :-(

That's exactly what I'm suspecting too.

He/She seriously doesn't believe that any mental illnesses exist. Which means they obviously have never had any, or known closely anyone who had one.

It's hard not to get really defensive....this person's POV reminds me so much of Tony except with an anarchist bent.
