Paganfaire is this Saturday, 10-5, at the World Forestry Center, in Miller Hall. Ritual to follow, that sounds like it was taken almost directly from the Earths' Children series, does Jean Auel know about this? Hm. I'm sure that some of her titles for people are copyrighted....but whatever, I never go to their rituals anymore really.
Heather Alexander's been confirmed, and to be honest, that's reason enough for me to go to the Faire part.
On a totally random note, someone had Bjork as a last name today, with a normal American first name. Okay, WTF? That's confusing, to be honest.
Icelandic names are done differently. Your last name is your dad's first name, plus dottir or son. If a guy's name is Jon, his daughter would be So'n'so Jonsdottir and his son would be So'n'so Jonson. People are listed by their first names in the phonebook.
That's how you end up with Scandinavian-descent people named Lars Larson and shit like that. They get here and start doing their names the American way--everyone has dad's last name.
So it still makes no sense for someone to have Bjork as a last name, unless it was one they adopted, either upon immigration here, or because they're that much of a fan.
Oddly enough, I'm listening to Bjork right now.
