Well at least they got the person I'm most likely to stalk correct. *giggle*
Moment of the week: In chorus, we had a guest director because Joan was at a conference. We started learning a piece based on a Langston Hughes poem, and the Alto 1's (my section!) start the piece and do a lot of the melody. I had the diction class on Monday and have really noticed how it improved my singing. In any case, we sounded pretty damn good on that section, even sight reading it. The director apparently liked it, because she asked half the section to turn around and face the other half. So the alto 1's are the only people standing, and directly across from me is Gayle, the musical section leader. I was so proud of how good I sounded and all of us sounded! When we stopped singing, the rest of the chorus burst into applause. Sweet!
I dream
I dream a world
I dream a world where man, no longer man will scorn
where love will bless the earth
and peace its paths adorn...
Random side note: I was wearing my Gir wristie, and she thought it was Marvin the Martian at first. Also, it's harder to sing "dum-ah dum dum" for four minutes straight, than you'd think.
I'm 380 posts behind on my friends list. And I'm still going to attempt to read it. Oy vey!!
I have a ride into town for the HOM Brigid ritual. I caught a mild cold (I think that's what it is) so I spent all of yesterday in bed.
Gayle is awesome

Date: 2005-02-09 04:47 am (UTC)I love the song, but owee the sopranos suck at some parts. It's three-part, the mezzos and altos are dum-ah dum duming, and the sopranos are sucking. *lol* Timing! And don't jump to that A so damn fast you all sound like you're shrieking!! Gah!! I figured maybe it was just that the song didn't transfer to CD well, but I've heard them sing it in person.
oh, yeah

Date: 2005-02-09 04:49 am (UTC)It does not surprise me in any way to find out that there are Pagans in Aurora. *gasp!* *shock!*
*giggle* I'm glad, actually, about the Morris Dancer thing. If I have my way I'll have a harp in time for the retreat, and I know a Morris dance tune. Well, I used to, and I could certainly relearn it.
