Don't know if I'll get time to read my f-list tonight, but I can at least post a bit.
infernarl went to church with me today. He volunteered to come with. It was so so funny, because the sermon included talking about how in the time when the old testament was written, pagans believed in seperate gods for wind and earthquakes and storms and etc... afterwards as we were leaving she saw me and blushed and said, "I hope you know I didn't mean you!!" and hugged me and laughed. I *heart* Pastor Diane. As I suspected they would, every person I ran into practically glommed onto
infernarl. Poor thing. I have a meeting at church tomorrow and I know I'll get asked about him.
We went to Pacific, where the bookstore was closed and we ate at the cafeteria. They had soy milk, I was happy.
Went to the Funny Farm and he helped me clean my room. Well, more accurately, he cleaned it while I watched and pitched in here and there. I now have a floor. No, seriously! I even vaccuumed it with a shop vac. This cleaning was just to get everything off the floor...next time we'll actually start going through crap. As it is, I think something like three bags of garbage and three bags for paper recycling were taken from my room. Scary.
Tyler and us went to Taco Time where much laughing took place. Then I ran back and grabbed some clean clothes and now we're here.
It's been a stressful day all around. I think I've been snippy off and on the whole day.
I have a busy week ahead of me. First of all, I'm being trained at a new task, and it's one I've been really looking forward to, courier. That's when every half hour I grab stuff to take to the offices all over and take their stuff that needs to come back. All the mail and stuff comes through our office as well as all the files the docs use and anything that needs to go to other offices, so the cart's always full. My only issue is that I'm being trained by the actual supervisor, and she can get sorta cranky. Plus she is the person directly above me, and I want to look like I'm good at my job, y'know?
I must be. I'm being trained on that before the girl hired at the same time as me. Who, btw, told several people at lunch on Friday (including me and K) that she likes doing yellow cards (replacing registration cards in files) because she can stay in one place a while, and that means she can slack off and do nothing unless someone's looking. Good Lord.
I never realized I had anything close to a work ethic until I started working there. I do shit without complaining about it much, and I work hard at doing it. Yes, I know the filebacks are never done--but that's no excuse to intentionally do them slowly. All of my coworkers and the entire rest of the building depends on us doing our job and doing it right, and I'm going to do my best to do my part. Yeay for me.
In any case: I have a meeting at church tomorrow night. Tuesday night is when I'm "voiced" for Aurora, and my first official rehearsal is Thursday. I'm worried about getting there on time because the courier job is 8:30 to 5:30, and I have to be there at 6:30 one night and 6:45 another. So I have an hour to get from SW Millikan (160th) and TV Hiway to a block or so North of 29th and NE Sandy. I'm going to see if it's faster to walk the ten minutes to the max from work rather than catch the 57. Also, it might be faster to take the max to 42nd and catch the 12 down ten blocks rather than get off the max in portland and catch the 12 from there. But, whatever.

Date: 2005-01-10 08:51 pm (UTC)I wouldn't try taking the max to 42nd. I've done that and it doesn't work well. The 19 and 20 are pretty quick.
You might find someone who can routinely give you a ride, but its kinda tough since you don't get any time to talk.
