Aug. 30th, 2010 06:11 pmSo Friday, I went to a square dance to benefit the BTA and danced a few songs. Then I went dancing at the Fez.
Saturday my legs hurt like WHOA motherfucker! I took some advil but it didn't do much besides reduce the incidents of my calves actually having spasms. If I so much as touched my calves, it was really painful. They were also visibly swollen, at least to me.
I've pulled muscles dancing before, whatever, I'd be pretty good the next day, right?
Nope. Yesterday I still hurt. I did go to the Zine Symposium with Shawn, but we took the max there and back. We also went to REI (so I could return some shoes, and now I'm a member, yay!) and to Trader Joe's. By the time we were done at TJ's, I was wishing I'd stayed home. Every step hurt. Every pedal stroke on my bike hurt. I started getting really cranky about it.
Today...it has barely improved. I did take a Vicodin last night, which helped me sleep, because otherwise when I roll over in my sleep I wake up because it hurts.
If I get up from a sitting position, it's really hard to straighten my legs, especially the right one. It loosens up a little if I walk around, so that I eventually don't have a visible limp, but it still hurts.
I feel like a moron for not treating it more on Saturday, with ice and whatnot.
I'm starting to worry...if I really tore something, I should see a doctor. I did just win the Oregon Health Plan lottery, and I need to call them up and get started, but even then, how soon could I see a doctor?
Not to mention that, of course, I have a bike trip coming up this weekend, for several days, one of which includes going over a mountain pass from Alder Flats to Government Camp. Shawn has a reservation for us at the Mazamas Lodge on Monday night. On the upside, the first day is fairly short and the next day is a rest day.
It's so stupid that I can bike fifty or seventy-five miles and just be a little achy the next day, but I can't fucking square dance without being out of commission for days and days.
I'm still having muscle spasms. :^( I'm getting really sick of this.
