I haven't disappeared, just been busy.
Monday: Saw The Watchmen. Didn't really like it all that much, but I think I want to read the comic book. Also, I need to pay off my library fans so I can borrow Lost Girls and reread it.
Tuesday: Went to the Hawthorne Hostel to watch Shawn talk about some of his bike tours.
Wednesday: Met Lily's parents. The Hungry Tiger Too has vegan corndogs for a dollar on Wednesday nights. Between that and there being about two dozen people there just to meet Lily's parents, bikes were locked to anything that wouldn't move. Including other bikes. After ingesting four very delicious corndogs, I joined the crowd going to The Galaxy, where I hadn't been before. They have the same songbook as The Ambassador! Shawn showed up, and it turns out he loathes karaoke. Oh well, no one's perfect? Sang "Bicycle Race" and "It's Oh So Quiet" and helped poor Brad sing "Love Shack," as someone put his name in for him and we all had to go up with him. Except Shawn, who sat it out and perused the Pedalpalooza schedule.
Thursday: Went to the Pedalpalooza opening parade. Wooo! I felt like I was being pulled in eight directions by different people trying to talk to me in the park beforehand. Shawn had the same problem (well, he probably had twenty people talking to him, but whatever) so we were mostly separated until halfway into the ride. It ended at Colonel Summers park, were we socialized for a while before heading home.
TONIGHT: Bike Porn 3: CycleBound, then the Midnight Mystery Ride. I'm dressing up for tonight in those tiny shorts from last year, but it's gonna be chilly, so I'll also be wearing tights and stockings.
ALSO: the temp agency is trying to place me in a medical receptionist job at a holistic women's clinic in NW Portland. Thank god. Have I mentioned I hate my current temp job? A lot?
