Dec. 7th, 2007 10:59 amKaraoke is so much damn fun. Even if it means that on Fridays I'm all sleepy. I was really dizzy this morning and it hasn't gone away, and I feel sleepy, but other than that, I'm recovering just fine. Despite the three gin'n'tonics and not leaving until almost two.
Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy": Jeez louise. Everyone knows the chorus, of course; but the verses? I didn't know them at all. Oops. Still had fun.
dragon_mintz took video of me doing a little dance. Hahaha.
The Cure's "Love Song" is fun and totally easy. I may do that one again.
When I did Radiohead's "Paranoid Android" some random dude started playing air guitar and headbanging. It was awesome. And some of the words near the end are like, "WTF? That's what the words are? Really?"
Doing Green Day's "Longview" without swearing: Tricky. And pointless, because everyone knows the words and sings along. I think we should be allowed to swear after a certain time cut-off or something.
Managed to drag
sagcat up with me for "Karma Police." He was a good sport.
This weekend: There's supposed to be a going-away night out for
ourglasslake and
jameslentz, but I heard that
ourglasslake wasn't feeling well so I don't know. :^(
Tomorrow I have to work a few hours. They won't even be overtime because I took off early on Tuesday. I took vacation hours for that, though; so I'll still get that many more hours on my paycheck, they'll just be at the normal pay. Boo.
On the upside with that though, I can bike to Tobi's house and ride along the route to work with her--she wants to start biking to work but she's nervous, and mid-morning on a Saturday is a great time to ride that route.
common_as_stone gets here tomorrow but he's going to be so sleep-deprived!
The Golden Compass is getting iffy reviews. What's funny is that some people hate the overlying theme (religion/authority vs. secular/free thinking) and think it gets in the way; but people who have read the books think that the theme isn't strong enough in the film. Some people hate the action sequences and some love them. One reviewer admitted he dislikes sci-fi and fantasy and goes on to bitch about the way they talk. *rolls eyes*
I do wonder how much the negative reviews are from people who are at least somewhat religious.
I'm still going to see it, goddamnit. Probably a matinee at some point this weekend. Let me know if you want to come along.
