We went to the new house yesterday. The lockbox was still there, so we got to run around inside too. OMGWTF it's so awesome. The kitchen is hardcore 70's except with, thankfully, a newer fridge. For that matter, the whole house is kinda 70's--especially the wallpaper in the upstairs bathroom (which doesn't have a bath or shower).

The backyard!! I'm going to host coven rituals back there. It's got trees and a dilapidated garage, and soon it will have a garden, yes. So will the front yard, which has a nifty retaining wall thing with space for plants. [livejournal.com profile] jenhowell and I want nasturtiums (pretty and edible!) and maybe california poppies. The backyard will have tomatoes, and other vegetables etc. to be decided later. I think it would be fun to grow cantaloupes. And herbs, like parsley and basil. We get basil in the farmshare, but I love basil.

My only real complaint is the upstairs carpet. It gives a new definition to Fugly. It's varying shades of blue and green carpet tile, and the pattern reminds me of the backgrounds from the original Zelda game. Repetitive and ugly. But the bedroom is a decent size and has two huge windows that have good views.

Giving directions will be interesting--35th Court and 35th Place are parallel streets.

Did I mention we're too blocks from Kenilworth park? Which has two playgrounds and picnic tables?

It's been decided that it's my job to plan the housewarming party. We move in this weekend, so that won't be immediate. I'll give more information as things develop.

[livejournal.com profile] axiom and [livejournal.com profile] alicia_stardust decided to get rid of some stuff before moving. And voila, I have a laptop. It's older, but it runs Firefox.

I should find out if it can run iTunes. That would be handy.

I have Windows 2000 on it--not enough on here for XP. C'est la vie.

But, yeah: *happy dance*

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] aeonflux1973: we do need your washer and dryer.

Jamba Juice's "Non-Dairy Blend" contains...dairy. That's such bullshit.

But then, "non-dairy creamer" has dairy in it. *rolls eyes*
