Nov. 25th, 2006 01:47 amI just made the most fantastic gravy. It's even better than what I made yesterday. Using leeks instead of onions does indeed work, and fantabulously at that. I think the fresh herbs helped a bunch, too.
Hahaha both the gravy and stuffing contain a "poultry blend" of herbs--sage, rosemary, and thyme. Hey, I put parsley in there too--it's Simon and Garfunkel Seasoning!! (And yes, I know that song existed before them, it's just the most famous version.)
And I still have half the pie from last night, that's coming with me as well.
I still have a leek left.
Portabello and shiitake mushrooms go really well together. I'll have to remember that for future reference.
