(no subject)

A few things:

Save the date of November 10th, a Friday. I'm going to have a birthday party here for my 27th--probably food and cake and music and socializing. And after that, there will be Fez. Yay!! (And so far my list of people has just over twenty names on it...I'm half-hoping that a few people can't make it, as I'm not sure they'll all fit in this house!)

jenhowell, jameslentz, ourglasslake, Jarrod, and I, are going to leaflet Al Gore coming to present An Inconvenient Truth. Not because we disagree with him, far from it; but because eating less meat is such an excellent way to help combat global warming--it's certainly cheaper than buying a hybrid car, and easier than switching to a bicycle, as important as those choices are. Jarrod and I bought that vegan cupcake cookbook by Isa Chandra. Speaking of whom, she has a really excellent blog post on the subject of cupcakes and feeding omnivores, and why "even the omnivores like it!" is the best compliment vegan food often gets, over here. I went to the baby shower for ruby_wings last night. She got quite the haul, wow! Lots of blankets and hats and clothes. Turns out Chris (my brother) really likes baby socks and booties. I think he just finds tiny feet to be adorable. I still can't wrap my mind around the idea of my being an aunt. I'm just all *squee!* about the whole thing.

Jarrod and I went to Hot Lips Pizza for dinner tonight. We told them to make whatever vegan pizza they felt like. And we got...almost exactly what we would have ordered otherwise--mushrooms and onions and garlic. *lol* Damn, it was good.

Must deal with laundry. Must get ready for bed. Zzzzzz...
