1. I just ate some noodles with barely-not-raw garlic. Couldn't taste any of it. Dang.
2. BTW,
rikell42 was a sweety for running to Rite Aid for me earlier. I'm armed with various things, including Vick's, and Nyquil, and tissues with lotion in them. They don't have lanolin in them, but they do have something called "steareth-2" which might not be vegan. However, whenever I have a bad cold and use tissues that don't have lotion, my nose ends up really sore and red and the skin cracks and it's not happy or pretty.
Interestingly, though, Vick's Vapo-Rub is vegan. There's
turpentine in it, but no animal products. *lol*
3. So there was this Harry Potter convention in Las Vegas called Lumos. The more I read, the more I wish I could have gone! But everyone's in a (well-deserved) snit because a British paper called the Guardian printed a nasty article about it. It's sexist, it's demeaning to fans of all kinds, and it shows a lack of any research whatsoever. Pissed me off, for sure. I've read LJ posts by women who were interviewed by the article's author and are really cranky about how their quotes were used.
The article's
here if you're curious.
4. I hurt all over. I took some more advil a bit ago but it hasn't kicked in yet. My head is full of snot and it makes my brain slow. I almost bought some eucalyptus bath/shower gel yesterday and now I'm wishing I had. I may put on real clothes long enough to run to People's and fetch it. Because a hot bath that smells like Vick's sounds heavenly at the moment. Not that I can actually smell anything. But I can feel it when I breathe. And it feels damn good.
