Today I need to: Go to the bank (they have Saturday hours) and get a new driver's license. And it's one of those things where going by bus involves short times on the bus but lots of waiting, or spending more time than that walking, as both things are in/near Lloyd Center.

I can't wait for a bike some days.

This has been The Week of Advil. The day after I got my IUD put in, I was at work, and started having sharp cramps so bad... When a wave of them would start to fade, I'd get cold and sweaty and my hands would shake. I finally went home because I was spending more time trying to breath through them and not freak out, than I was working. Walking, oddly, helped a lot.

When the IUD cramps faded that evening, my normal period cramps took over.

Then, when those wore off, I got a sore throat. I get these in the summer, I don't know why. I can't tell if it's post-nasal drip from allergies, or if I'm having acid reflux in my sleep. But it happens several times every summer, and it always sucks. It hurts like a mofo. I spent all night sniffing and almost gagging. I took benadryl and claritin and still woke up in pain when my last advil dose had worn off. I bought some eucalyptus stuff at People's today, as one of the few things that really helps is putting Vick's Vapo-rub under my nose just before going to bed. I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] rikell42 will just love that.

Going to Noir tonight! Yessss!! And a coworker of mine that I haven't had a chance to talk about, might come with. Depending on some possible visitors.

Haven't read my friends list. Probably won't just yet. Need to get into the shower and then leave, holy shit!

I love Sinfest comics )

OMGLOLWTF

I don't think the Sinfest characters have ever been stoned before. The pig's been drunk before, though. Holy hell this series of strips is amusing.

Ah, it's so amusing: Every term of chorus so far, by the time it's over, it's a huge relief. I'm often just a wee bit sick of the music (of course, 99% of that disappears on stage--I'm just focusing on doing my best on every song and expressing the theme of the music and watching Joan like a hawk), I know I'll be glad to have all my Thursday nights to myself, and not worry about memorizing music or anything. Aaaah, I think to myself. Thank gods that's done.

While I was at my parents' house I grabbed the CD of my first concert. I've been listening to it. It's been long enough since my first concert (over a year!) that when I listen, I can actually hear the entirety of the pieces, and not just obsess over my part. I seriously have no idea how much of our music sounds until I hear the archive CD later, because I generally only hear the other parts in reference to mine--getting a harmony right, or knowing cues, that kind of thing.

And now I'm all itchy to start singing again. Like, really bad. I find myself randomly singing sections of songs from my concerts. Even though many times it sounds odd because my section won't have the melody. Last term there was one song where for a whole page, the lower divisi of alto ones stayed on a D. Good lord.

I should find out how I can get the CDs for my other two concerts without waiting for my first rehearsal in a month. I've paid for them, darnit.

Also: Damn. I forgot. We're good. *lol*

I have dreamed on this mountain
since first I was my mother's daughter
and you can't just take my dreams away
not with me watchin'
You may drive a big machine
but I was born a great big woman
and you can't just take my dreams away
without me fightin'

This old mountain raised my many daughters
some died young, some are still living
If you come here for to take our mountain
well we ain't come here to give it

I have dreamed on this mountain
since first I was my mother's daughter
and you can't just take my dreams away
not with me watchin'
No you can't just take my dreams away
without me fightin'
No you can't just take my dreams away!

In other news: My new driver's license has probably the most unattractive picture of any DL I've ever had.

And my sore throat and dry cough are truly irritating. Grr. I don't feel sick or anything, but I'm almost positive it's post-nasal drip from my allergies, judging by how the drip is continuing into the daytime. *gag* *sucks on another goddamn lozenge*

Looking forward to going out tonight. I wanna dance!!
