Apr. 25th, 2006 06:44 pmOMG. A page selling every kind of socks imaginable, including a ridiculous variety of striped socks, most of which go over the knee--like the ones in my icon. *points to icon*
They also have garter belts and arm warmers and such.
*squee!*
Okay, I don't need to buy eight more pairs of socks. Yet.
I already have a project on my needles (woot!) but something I want to make is arm bands/bracers/wtf-ever they're called...the kind that lace up your arm, and go from your wrist almost to your elbow. I've seen
alicia_stardust wear them, and I've seen them at Hot Topic (they're over here). It would be mega easy, I'd just knit them up flat and then put a ribbon lacing it up. Black cotton would be good. Maybe a 2x2 rib so they fit my arm evenly without any funky shaping.
There's a pattern in the second stitch'n'bitch book for a vaguely fishnet pattern... I wouldn't make those lace up though. Could put a thumb-hook thing on them if I wanted.
Bwah ha ha.... that would be a fun crafty thing to sell, wouldn't it? Hand-knit armwarmer thingies. *giggle* Bah, too much work. I'm not that fast of a knitter, and if I made sure I made a good hourly wage on those things, they would be prohibitively expensive.
