Mar. 26th, 2006 07:34 pmSo! I had fun today. And I'm totally exhausted.
There was lots of hiking/walking, that's for sure. Hence being exhausted. We climbed to the top of the Astoria Column, I have a pin on my bag now that proclaims that to the world. That's a fuck of a lot of stairs. Neat views, though.
We went over the bridge and to Cape Disappointment. There were many, many jokes about the name. We didn't go to the lighthouse, but we did walk to the beach, and
rikell42 and I poked around in the interpretive center. But we didn't do any interpretive dancing. Well, I may have. We also did some hiking near the Cape, and it was really really pretty. I took a ton of pictures. Including of trillium flowers (yay!!) and of a little garter snake. I found out what "macro" means on my camera. Duh, I can take close-up pictures of tiny stuff after all. *headslap* I've had that camera for over a year and I'm just now figuring this out. But the walk was so pretty--in a lot of places it looked like the set for a fantasy movie.
What did we do after that? Oh yeah. We went back to Astoria and tried to find food. The two places that I knew had vegan options were both closed, so we ended up at a Thai place. It was tasty but they fucked up
ourglasslake's order twice. Grrr.
I'm forgetting things, I think. I know we went to Fort Stevens to see the ocean proper, but it was so windy and cold we didn't stay long. We drove through Seaside but nothing really appealed to us.
I was the only one who brought CD's. But it turns out that
jameslentz used to listen to The Downward Spiral repeatedly at some point as well, so now he's coming with. :^) Yay! I really need to find out if Stacy's coming, because the three of us have decided to shell out the extra bucks to get actual seats (the 200 level is $32 or so not including fees etc.) so we need to buy them all at the same time.
Speaking of Stacy: When I picked up the phone this morning I had a missed call and a text. She'd gone to the Fez last night, and wondered where I was. WTF?!? I sent her back one saying something like, "I called you yesterday and never heard back so I assumed something had come up." There hasn't been a reply to that. Grrr.
silverrose79 aka Bink is going in for a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow. If people have spare time/energy for reiki etc. for her, that would be awesome of you.
She's here now for dinner with DJ. Woohoo!
